Hadith 6854

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْعَطَّارُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أبيه ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي أُعْطِيتُ عُسًّا مَمْلُوءًا لَبَنًَا ، فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَمَلأْتُ ، فَرَأَيْتُهَا تَجْرِي فِي عُرُوقِي بَيْنَ الْجِلْدِ وَاللَّحْمِ ، فَفَضَلَتْ مِنْهَا فَضْلَةٌ ، فَأَعْطَيْتُهَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَذَا عِلْمٌ أَعْطَاكَهُ اللَّهُ حَتَّى إِِذَا تَمَلأْتَ مِنْهُ ، فَضَلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ ، فَأَعْطَيْتَهَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ ؟ فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَدْ أَصَبْتُمْ " .
Salim bin Abdullah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw (in a dream) that a vessel was given to me which was filled with milk. I drank from it until I was satisfied, and I felt that the milk was flowing through the veins between my skin and flesh. Some of it was left, so I gave it to Abu Bakr. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! This means knowledge, which Allah Almighty granted you, until when you were filled with it and some remained, you gave it to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have spoken the truth."
