أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِحَرَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَقَارَبَ الزَّمَانُ ، فَتَكُونُ السَّنَةُ كَالشَّهْرِ ، وَيَكُونُ الشَّهْرُ كَالْجُمُعَةِ ، وَتَكُونُ الْجُمُعَةُ كَالْيَوْمِ ، وَيَكُونُ الْيَوْمُ كَالسَّاعَةِ ، وَتَكُونُ السَّاعَةُ كَاحْتِرَاقِ السَّعَفَةِ أَوِ الْخُوصَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until time contracts. A year will be like a month, a month will be like a week, a week will be like a day, a day will be like an hour (i.e., a whole watch), and an hour will be like the burning of a leaf or the burning of a palm leaf."
