أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ شِمَاسَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ وَعِنْدَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : لا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِِلا عَلَى شِرَارِ الْخَلْقِ ، هُمْ شَرٌّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، لا يَدْعُونَ اللَّهَ بِشَيْءٍ إِِلا رَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ كَذَلِكَ أَقْبَلَ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مَسْلَمَةُ : يَا عُقْبَةُ ، اسْمَعْ مَا يَقُولُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ عُقْبَةُ : هُوَ أَعْلَمُ ، وَأَمَّا أَنَا ، فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لا تَزَالُ عِصَابَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى أَمْرِ اللَّهِ قَاهِرِينَ لِعَدُوِّهِمْ ، لا يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ ، حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ وَهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ " ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ اللَّهُ رِيحًا ، رِيحُهَا رِيحُ الْمِسْكِ ، وَمَسُّهَا مَسُّ الْخَزِّ ، فَلا تَتْرُكُ نَفْسًا فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ إِِيمَانٍ إِِلا قَبَضَتْهُ ، ثُمَّ يَبْقَى شِرَارُ النَّاسِ ، فَعَلَيْهِمْ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ .
Abdur Rahman bin Shumasah narrates: He was present with Muslamah bin Makhlad, and with him was also Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Hour will be established only upon the worst of people, and they will be even worse than the people of ignorance. Whatever they ask from Allah Almighty, Allah will not accept their supplication. While they were in this state, Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived. So Muslamah said to him: O Uqbah! Listen to what Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) is narrating. So Uqbah said: He has more knowledge. Anyway, as for me, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "A group from my Ummah will always continue to fight for the religion of Allah, and they will prevail over their enemies. Those who oppose them will not be able to harm them until the Hour comes upon them while they are in that state." Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: So Allah Almighty will send a wind whose fragrance will be like the fragrance of musk and whose touch will be like silk, and it will not leave anyone whose heart contains faith equal to the weight of a mustard seed except that it will take his soul. Then only the worst people will remain, and upon them the Hour will be established.
