Hadith 683

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرَاهِيجَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا كَانَ طَعَامَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلا الأَسْوَدَانِ : التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: In the blessed era of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, our food consisted of only two black things: dates and water.
