Hadith 6819

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لا تَزَالُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ ظَاهِرِينَ إِِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَيَنْزِلُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ، فَيَقُولُ أَمِيرُهُمْ : تَعَالَ صَلِّ لَنَا ، فَيَقُولُ : لا ، إِِنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ أُمَرَاءُ لِتَكْرِمَةِ اللَّهِ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A group from my Ummah will always fight for the truth and they will remain dominant until the Day of Resurrection. Then, Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam will descend, and their leader will say: 'Please come forward and lead us in prayer.' He (Isa) will reply: 'No, you are leaders over one another.' (The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said:) Allah the Exalted will honor this Ummah through this."
