أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ثَوْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلالٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَنْزِلَ الرُّومُ بِالأَعْمَاقِ ، أَوْ بِدَابِقَ ، فَيَخْرُجُ إِِلَيْهِمْ جَيْشٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، هُمْ خِيَارُ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ يَوْمَئِذٍ ، فَإِِذَا تَصَافُّوا ، قَالَتِ الرُّومُ : خَلُّوا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الَّذِينَ سَبَوْا مِنَّا نُقَاتِلْهُمْ ، فَيَقُولُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ : لا وَاللَّهِ ، لا نُخَلِّي بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ إِِخْوَانِنَا ، فَيُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ ، فَيَنْهَزِمُ ثُلُثٌ لا يَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَبَدًا ، ثُمَّ يُقْتَلُ ثُلُثُهُمْ وَهُمْ أَفْضَلُ الشُّهَدَاءِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ، وَيَفْتَتِحُ ثُلُثٌ فَيَفْتَتِحُونَ ، فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ الْغَنَائِمَ ، قَدْ عَلَّقُوا سُيُوفَهُمْ بِالزَّيْتُونِ ، إِِذْ صَاحَ فِيهِمُ الشَّيْطَانُ إِِنَّ الْمَسِيحَ قَدْ خَلَفَكُمْ فِي أَهْالِيكُمْ ، فَيَخْرُجُونَ ، وَذَلِكَ بَاطِلٌ ، فَإِِذَا جَاءُوا الشَّامَ خَرَجَ يَعْنِي الدَّجَّالَ ، فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ يُعِدُّونَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَيُسَوُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ ، إِِذْ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاةُ ، فَيَنْزِلُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ، فَإِِذَا رَآهُ عَدُوُّ اللَّهِ يَذُوبُ كَمَا يَذُوبُ الْمِلْحُ ، وَلَوْ تَرَكُوهُ لَذَابَ حَتَّى يَهْلِكَ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ يَقْتُلُهُ اللَّهُ بِيَدِهِ ، فَيُرِيهِمْ دَمَهُ بِحَرْبَتِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until the Romans camp at a place called A’maq (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or Dabiq. An army from among the people of Madinah will go out to confront them; they will be the best people on the face of the earth at that time. When they line up in ranks, the Romans will say: Move aside from those who took captives from among us; we will fight them. The Muslims will say: No, by Allah! We will not move aside from between you and our brothers. So they will fight them, and one third of them will retreat; Allah will never accept their repentance. One third will be martyred; they will be the most virtuous martyrs in the sight of Allah. And one third will achieve victory and will conquer Constantinople. While they are dividing the spoils of war and hanging their swords on olive trees, Satan will cry out among them: The Dajjal has come among your families in your absence. They will come out, but this will be false. When they reach Syria, the Dajjal will emerge. While they are preparing for battle and arranging their ranks, the call for prayer will be given. Then, Sayyiduna Isa ibn Maryam will descend. When Allah’s enemy (the Dajjal) sees him, he will begin to melt as salt melts in water. If the Muslims were to leave him, he would still melt until he perished, but Allah will cause him to be killed at the hands of (i.e., at the hand of Sayyiduna Isa ibn Maryam), and Isa will show his blood on his spear to the people.
