Imam Sha’bi narrates: We heard Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) saying: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit, praised and glorified Allah, then said: I am warning you about the Dajjal. Every prophet before me has warned his nation about him, and he will appear among you. O Ummah! Indeed, there is no prophet after me, and there is no nation after you. However, Tamim Dari has informed me that his cousin and his companions were traveling in the sea of Sham. They reached an island where there was a woman pulling her hair. They asked: Who are you? She said: Jassasah (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) Jassasah. They said: Tell us about something. She said: I will not tell you about anything, nor will I ask you about anything, but go to the place of worship, there is a man there who is eager to meet you. They went to the place of worship and found a man there, whose eye was defective, and he was bound in iron chains to a pillar. He asked: Where have you come from? Who are you? They replied: From the people of Sham. He asked: Who are you? They replied: We are Arabs. He said: What is the condition of the Arabs? They said: Among them, a prophet has appeared who is from the land of Tayma. He asked: What is the condition of the people? They said: Some of them have affirmed him, and some have denied him. He said: If they affirm him and follow him, it is better for them if they know. Then he asked: What are your houses made of? They said: Of hair and wool, which our women prepare. The narrator says: He struck his hand on his knees and said: That is it. Then he asked: What is the condition of the Lake of Tiberias? They said: Its shores are overflowing. He struck his hand on his knees and said: Hurry up. Then he asked: What is the condition of the spring of Zughar? They said: Its banks are overflowing, and whoever comes to it drinks to his fill. He struck his hand on his knees and said: Hurry up. Then he asked: What is the condition of the date palms of Baisan? They said: Their branches bear fruit all year round. He struck his hand on his knees and said: Hurry up. Then he said: If I am freed from these chains, there will be no spring that I will not trample, except for Makkah and Taybah (i.e., Madinah), for I am not permitted to go there.

(The narrator says) Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is Taybah. I declare it sacred just as Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah sacred. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, on every path leading into it through the land and mountains, there are two angels stationed, with swords drawn, ready to prevent the Dajjal from entering it until the Day of Resurrection.
