Yahya bin Mu’ammar narrates: I said to Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her): Tell me a hadith that you heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) directly, and do not tell me anything except what you heard directly from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She said: Alright. It was announced: Gather together! So the people gathered, and the people became anxious. Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ascended the pulpit, praised and glorified Allah, and said: “I have not gathered you here out of desire or fear, but rather an incident has occurred which Tamim Dari has narrated to me. He says that he and thirty men from the tribes of Lakhm and Judham were traveling by sea. He narrated that the sea (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) the waves began to play with us, and this continued for a month, then our boat reached an island in the sea. Tamim Dari narrates: We disembarked and went towards the island, where we met a woman who was pulling at her hair. We could not tell whether she was coming or going. We asked: Who are you? She said: I am ‘Jassasah’. We said: Tell us something. She said: Go to the person in the church, he will inform you and will also ask you for information. Tamim Dari narrates: We went to him, and he was a man—then she mentioned his great size—he was bound with iron chains. We asked: Who are you? He said: First tell me about that which I will ask you. They said: Ask us. He asked: What is the condition of the date palms of Baisan? Are their fruits still being eaten? We replied: Yes. He said: Soon they will not be eaten. Then he asked: Tell me about the spring of Zughar, is there water in it? We replied: Yes. He said: Soon there will be no water in it. Then he said: Tell me about that man, has he appeared? They replied: Yes. He said: Indeed, he is truthful, so follow him. We asked: Who are you? He said: I am the Dajjal.” Kahmas narrates: Ibn Buraidah mentioned something here which I do not remember, but in it are these words: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The earth will be folded for him, so that he will circle the entire earth in forty days.”
