أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَغْزُو جَيْشٌ الْكَعْبَةَ ، حَتَّى إِِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ ، خُسِفَ بِأَوَّلِهِمْ وَآخِرِهِمْ " ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَفِيهِمْ سِوَاهُمْ ، وَمَنْ لَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : " يُخْسَفُ بِأَوَّلِهِمْ وَآخِرِهِمْ ، ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُونَ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِمْ " .
Ibn Qutbiyyah narrates: I, Abdullah bin Safwan, and Harith bin Rabi’ah, went to the service of Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her). These people said: O Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), will you not narrate to us the tradition about people being swallowed by the earth? She replied: Yes, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A man will seek refuge in the House of Allah (the Ka’bah), then an army will be sent towards him. When they reach an open plain, they will be swallowed by the earth.” Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked: O Messenger of Allah, what about the person who is compelled (to go with them)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He will also be swallowed along with them, but on the Day of Resurrection, he will be raised according to the intention he had in his heart.” The narrator named Abdul Aziz says: I asked Abu Ja’far (perhaps meaning Imam Muhammad al-Baqir): Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: in the open part of the earth. So Imam Abu Ja’far replied: By Allah! What is meant by this is the stony plain of Madinah.
