أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِِذَا هَلَكَ كِسْرَى فَلا كِسْرَى بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا ، وَإِِذَا هَلَكَ قَيْصَرُ فَلا قَيْصَرُ بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا ، وَأَيْمُ اللَّهِ لَتُنْفَقَنَّ كُنُوزُهُمَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will soon come upon you when the river Euphrates will uncover a mountain of gold, over which people will fight. Out of every hundred, ninety people will be killed." (The narrator says: O my son! If you reach that time, then do not be among those who fight for it.)
