أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الطَّائِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ إِِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أُمِّ حَرَامٍ بِنْتِ مِلْحَانَ فَتُطْعِمُهُ ، وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ حَرَامٍ تَحْتَ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا ، فَأَطْعَمَتْهُ ، ثُمَّ جَلَسَتْ تَفْلِي رَأْسَهُ ، فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ ، قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ : مَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عُرِضُوا عَلَيَّ ، غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، يَرْكَبُونَ ثَبَجَ هَذَا الْبَحْرِ ، مُلُوكًا عَلَى الأَسِرَّةِ أَوْ مِثْلَ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الأَسِرَّةِ يَشُكُّ أَيُّهُمَا ، قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، فَدَعَا لَهَا ، ثُمَّ وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَنَامَ ، ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ ، قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ : مَا يُضْحِكُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : نَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عُرِضُوا عَلَيَّ ، غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، كَمَا قَالَ فِي الأَوَّلِ ، قَالَتْ : فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : أَنْتِ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ ، فَرَكِبَتْ أُمُّ حَرَامٍ الْبَحْرَ فِي زَمَانِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، فَصُرِعَتْ عَنْ دَابَّتِهَا حِينَ خَرَجَتْ مِنَ الْبَحْرِ ، فَهَلَكَتْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to me while I was sleeping in the Prophet’s Mosque. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) struck me with his foot and said: Do I see you sleeping here? I replied: Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! I dozed off. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: What will be your condition when you are expelled from here? I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), what should I do at that time? Should I fight with my sword? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Shall I not guide you to something better for you than that and closer to guidance? Act with obedience and submission, and wherever they tell you to go, you go there.
