Hadith 6660

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَن رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي خُلَفَاءُ يَعْمَلُونَ بِمَا يَعْلَمُونَ ، وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ، ثُمَّ يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خُلَفَاءُ يَعْمَلُونَ بِمَا لا يَعْلَمُونَ ، وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا لا يُؤْمَرُونَ ، فَمَنْ أَنْكَرَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ ، وَلَكِنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There will be twelve caliphs after me, all of them will be from the Quraysh." (The narrator says:) When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) went to his house, the Quraysh came to him and asked: What will happen after that? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then there will be widespread killing.
