Sayyiduna Abu Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), whose name is Amr bin Akhtab, narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in the morning prayer, then he ascended the pulpit. He delivered a sermon until the time for Zuhr arrived, then he descended from the pulpit and performed the prayer. Then he ascended the pulpit again and delivered a sermon to us until the time for Asr arrived, then he descended from the pulpit and performed the prayer. Then he ascended the pulpit again and delivered a sermon to us until the sun set. He informed us of what had happened and what would happen, so the person who remembered it the most among us was the most knowledgeable among us.
