حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُدَامَةَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَرَضِهِ : " ادْعِي لِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ حَتَّى أَكْتُبَ ، فَإِِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَتَمَنَّى مُتَمَنٍّ ، وَيَقُولُ : أَنَا أَوْلَى ، وَيَأْبَى اللَّهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنونَ إِِلا أَبَا بَكْرٍ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: During the illness in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed away, he said: "Pour water over me from seven water-skins whose mouths have not been untied, so that I may be able to advise the people." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: We seated the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the large tub of Lady Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her). After that, we kept pouring water over him until he signaled to us that we had done so sufficiently.
