Hadith 6591

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ الرَّازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : أُغْمِيَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَأْسُهُ فِي حِجْرِي ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَمْسَحُهُ ، وَأَدْعُو لَهُ بِالشِّفَاءِ ، فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ ، قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا ، بَلْ أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الرَّفِيقَ الأَعْلَى ، مَعَ جِبْرِيلَ ، وَمِيكَائِيلَ ، وإِِسْرَافِيلَ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I had heard that no prophet passes away until he is given the choice between remaining in this world or moving to the Hereafter. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) during his illness in which he passed away, saying this, even though his voice had become heavy at that time. He was saying: "With those upon whom Allah has bestowed His favor, from among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and what excellent companions they are."
