أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًَا سَأَلَهُ عَنْ جُرْحِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " جُرِحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكُسِرَتْ رَبَاعِيَتُهُ ، وَهُشِمَتِ الْبَيْضَةُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَكَانَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَغْسِلُ الدَّمَ ، وَعَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَسْكُبُ الْمَاءَ عَلَيْهَا بِالْمِجَنِّ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ فَاطِمَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ الْمَاءَ لا يَزِيدُ الدَّمَ إِِلا كَثْرَةً ، أَخَذَتْ قِطْعَةً مِنْ حَصِيرٍ ، فَأَحْرَقَتْهُ ، حَتَّى إِِذَا صَارَ رَمَادًا ، أَلْصَقَتْهُ بِالْجُرْحِ ، فَاسْتَمْسَكَ الدَّمُ " .
Sayyiduna Fultan bin Asim رضي الله عنه narrates: We were sitting in the mosque with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم looked at a man who was walking in the mosque. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked: Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah? He replied: No. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked: Do you recite the Torah? He replied: Yes. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked: (Do you recite) the Gospel? He replied: Yes. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked: (Do you recite) the Qur'an? He said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if I wish, I can acquire its knowledge as well. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: I ask you by Allah, have you found my mention in the Torah and the Gospel? He replied: We find (in the Torah) mention of you, your Ummah, and your emergence (or the place of migration), and we hoped that you would be sent among us (i.e., among the Jews), but when your appearance happened, we feared that you might not be the one. But when we investigated this matter, you are not him. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked: Why is that? He said: The reason is that with that Prophet, there will be seventy thousand people from his Ummah who will have no reckoning and no punishment, whereas with you there are very few people. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, that (Prophet mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel) is indeed me, and this is my Ummah, and (the number of those who will enter Paradise) will be seventy thousand, and seventy thousand more, and even more than seventy thousand.
