أَخْبَرَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ : وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ سورة الشعراء آية 214 ، وَرَهْطَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ ، قَالَ : وَهُنَّ فِي قِرَاءَةِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَتَى الصَّفَا ، فَصَعِدَ عَلَيْهَا ، ثُمَّ نَادَى : " يَا صَبَاحَاهُ " ، فَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ إِِلَيْهِ ، فَبَيْنَ رَجُلٍ يَجِيءُ ، وَبَيْنَ رَجُلٍ يَبْعَثُ رَسُولَهُ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، يَا بَنِي فِهْرٍ ، يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ ، يَا بَنِي ، يَا بَنِي ، أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَخْبَرْتُكُمْ أَنَّ خَيْلًَا بِسَفْحِ هَذَا الْجَبَلِ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تُغِيرَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَصَدَّقْتُمُونِي ؟ " ، قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَإِِنِّي نَذِيرٌ لَكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ " ، فَقَالَ أَبُو لَهَبٍ : تَبًّا لَكَ سَائِرَ الْيَوْمِ ، أَمَا دَعَوْتُمُونَا إِِلا لِهَذَا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ ، فَنَزَلَتْ : تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ سورة المسد آية 1 ، وَقَدْ تُبَّ ، وَقَالُوا : مَا جَرَّبْنَا عَلَيْكَ كَذِبًا .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When this verse was revealed: "And warn your close relatives," in the recitation of Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) these words are also present: "And among them, warn your sincere group." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out. He came to the hill of Safa. He climbed up and then called out, "Danger!" People gathered around him. Some came themselves, some sent their messengers. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O Banu Abdul Muttalib! O Banu Fihr! O Banu Abd Manaf! O Banu (so-and-so)! O Banu (so-and-so)! What do you think, if I inform you that on the other side of this mountain there is an army that wants to attack you, will you believe me? They replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Then I am warning you of a severe punishment before it comes. Upon this, Abu Lahab said: May you perish forever! Did you call us only for this? Then he stood up (and left). And regarding this, the verse was revealed: "May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined." So he was ruined. However, the other people said: We have never experienced a lie from you.
