أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا مَاءً ، فَأُتِيَ بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ ، فَأَدْخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ ، فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَنْفَجِرُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَيَقُولُ : " حَيَّ عَلَى أَهْلِ الطَّهُورِ ، وَالْبَرَكَةِ مِنَ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ الأَعْمَشُ : فَحَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : كَمْ كُنْتُمْ ؟ قَالَ : أَلْفٌ وَخَمْسُ مِائَةٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once we were traveling with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The people did not find water, and a bowl of water was brought. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) put his blessed hand into it, and I saw water gushing forth from between the fingers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come towards the means of attaining purity, blessing is from Allah Almighty." The narrator named A’mash has narrated this, Salim told me this. I asked Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both): How many people were you? He replied: One thousand five hundred (people).
