Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I remember this about myself that I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the time for Asr prayer came. We did not have water, except for a little leftover water. It was poured into a vessel, then that vessel was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put his blessed hand into it. He spread his fingers and said: "Come to the water for ablution. Blessing is from Allah, the Exalted." The narrator says: So I saw water gushing forth from between the fingers of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The narrator says: So the people performed ablution and they also drank the water. The narrator states: I tried my utmost to drink as much of that water as I could, because I knew that it was blessed. The narrator says: I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): How many people were you that day? He replied: One thousand four hundred (people).
