Hadith 6532

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ مُهَاجِرِ أَبِي مَخْلَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَمَرَاتٍ قَدْ صَفَفْتُهُنَّ فِي يَدَيَّ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ، فَدَعَا لِي فِيهِمْ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ، وَقَالَ : " إِِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ شَيْئًا ، فَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ ، وَلا تَنْثُرْهُ نَثْرًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : فَحَمَلْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَسْقًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَكُنَّا نَطْعَمُ مِنْهُ وَنُطْعِمُ ، وَكَانَ فِي حِقْوِي حَتَّى انْقَطَعَ مِنِّي لَيَالِيَ عُثْمَانَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I brought some dates to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). I was holding them in both my hands. I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Please supplicate for blessing in them for me. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicated for blessing in them for me. He said: When you want to take something from them, put your hand inside them, do not finish them completely. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I gave away so many wasqs of those dates in charity in the way of Allah, we ourselves used to eat from them and we used to feed others as well. They remained in my container, until during the days of (the rebellion against) Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), they fell from me.
