Hadith 65

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بِسْطَامٍ بِالأُبُلَّةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ فِطْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : " تَرَكَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَمَا طَائِرٌ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ إِلا عِنْدَنَا مِنْهُ عِلْمٌ " قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : مَعْنَى " عِنْدَنَا مِنْهُ " يَعْنِي بِأَوَامِرِهِ وَنَوَاهِيَهِ ، وَأَخْبَارِهِ ، وَأَفْعَالِهِ ، وَإِبَاحَاتِهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates:
“When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from us, there was not even a bird flying with its wings except that we had some knowledge about it.”
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The meaning of the words in the narration “we had some knowledge about it” is that regarding the commands, prohibitions, information, actions, and declarations of permissibility by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), (we had received knowledge).
