Hadith 6458

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ زَاجْ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَدَّادُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْوَازِعِ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَا بَيْنَ نَاحِيَتَيْ حَوْضِي كَمَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ إِِلَى صَنْعَاءَ مَسِيرَةَ شَهْرٍ ، عَرْضُهُ كَطُولِهِ ، فِيهَا مِيزَابَانِ يَنْثَعِبَانِ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ وَرِقٍ وَذَهَبٍ ، أَبْيَضُ مِنَ اللَّبَنِ ، وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ ، وَأَبْرَدُ مِنَ الثَّلْجِ ، فِيهِ أَبَارِيقُ عَدَدُ نُجُومِ السَّمَاءِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "The distance between the two edges of my Hawd (cistern) is as much as the distance from Aylah to Sana'a, which is the distance of one month's journey. The width of this Hawd is equal to its length. There are two channels in it that come from Paradise, made of silver and gold. Its drink (or water) is whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, and colder than ice. By this Hawd, there are as many cups as there are stars in the sky."
