Hadith 6438

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِِذَا عَرَّسَ بِاللَّيْلِ ، تَوَسَّدَ يَمِينَهُ ، وَإِِذَا عَرَّسَ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ ، نَصَبَ سَاعِدَهُ نَصْبًا ، وَوَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ عَلَى كَفِّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would camp at night during a journey, he would make his right hand a pillow. And when he would camp after the morning, he would raise his wrist and place his head on his palm.
