Hadith 6434

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ مُسَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقْسِمُ شَيْئًا ، أَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ فَأَكَبَّ عَلَيْهِ ، فَطَعَنَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعُرْجُونٍ مَعَهُ ، فَجُرِحَ بِوَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَعَالَ فَاسْتَقِدْ " ، فَقَالَ : قَدْ عَفَوْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was distributing something. During this, a man came forward and leaned over the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck him with the stick he had in his hand, which hit the man's face. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Come and take your retaliation." He replied: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I have forgiven you."
