Hadith 6427

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ عَنْ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ : لَقَدْ رَأَى مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَى سورة النجم آية 18 ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : " رَأَى جِبْرِيلَ فِي صُورَتِهِ لَهُ سِتُّمِائَةِ جَنَاحٍ " .
Shaibani narrates: I asked Zar bin Hubaish about this verse: "Indeed, he saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord." The narrator states: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Sayyiduna Jibreel (Gabriel), peace be upon him, in his original form; he had 600 wings.
