Hadith 6418

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " اعْتَرَضَ لِي شّيْطَانٌ فِي مُصَلايَ هَذَا ، فَأَخَذْتُهُ ، فَخَنَقَتْهُ حَتَّى إِِنِّي لأَجِدُ بُرْدَ لِسَانِهِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ كَفِّي ، فَلَوْلا دَعْوَةُ أَخِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، لأَصْبَحَ مَرْبُوطًا تَنْظُرُونَ إِِلَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "During my prayer, Satan came before me. I seized him and strangled him, until I felt the coolness of his tongue on the back of my hand. If it were not for the supplication of my brother, Sayyiduna Sulaiman (peace be upon him), that came to my mind, that Satan would have been tied up until morning and you people would have seen him."
