Hadith 6390

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " بُعِثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً ، وَدَعَا النَّاسَ إِِلَى الإِِسْلامِ ، وَلَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ فِي الْقِتَالِ ثَلاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً ، فَكَانَتِ الْهِجْرَةُ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، فَقُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent as a Prophet, he was 40 years old. He (peace be upon him) invited people to Islam, but for thirteen years he was not permitted to fight. Then, after the migration, there were ten years, then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed away, and at that time he (peace be upon him) was 63 years old.
