أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِعْظَامًا لِلْوِتْرِ ، تَنَامُ عَنِ الْوِتْرِ ؟ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ! إِِنَّ عَيْنِي تَنَامُ وَلا يَنَامُ قَلْبِي " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Are you going to sleep without performing Witr?" I asked this question to express the importance of Witr, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O Aisha! My eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep."
