Hadith 6372

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ بِمَكَّةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَقَدْ كَانَ " يَأْتِي عَلَى أَهْلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرٌ مَا يُخْبَزُ فِيهِ " ، قُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، مَا كَانَ يَأْكُلُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ، فَقَالَتْ : " كَانَ لَنَا جِيرَانٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ جَزَاهُمُ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا ، كَانَ لَهُمْ لَبَنٌ يُهْدُونَ مِنْهُ إِِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sometimes a whole month would pass in the household of Muhammad (peace be upon him) in which they would not have any bread to eat. The narrator asked: O Mother of the Believers! What would the Prophet (peace be upon him) eat then? Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: We had some Ansari neighbors. May Allah reward them with goodness. They had milk, and they would send it as a gift to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
