Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Jibreel (peace be upon him) was sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). During this, he looked towards the sky, from which an angel descended. Sayyiduna Jibreel (peace be upon him) said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): This angel has never descended before today. Then he came down. He said: O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), your Lord has sent me to you. Do you wish that Allah Almighty makes you a king, or do you wish to remain a servant and a Messenger? Sayyiduna Jibreel (peace be upon him) said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), adopt humility before your Lord. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No, rather I wish to remain a servant and a Messenger.
