Hadith 6342

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ يَخْطُبُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ ، وَذَكَرَ مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَلْتَوِي وَمَا يَجِدُ مِنَ الدَّقَلِ مَا يَمْلأُ بَطْنَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned while delivering a sermon that people have now acquired various kinds of worldly blessings, whereas I have seen the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that when he was hungry, even dates of a light kind were not available to him in such quantity that he could fill his stomach with them.
