Abu Ishaq narrates: People went out to perform the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa). Among them was Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam. There was only one person between me and him. I asked, "In how many battles (Ghazwat) did you participate?" Here, the narrator named Ibn Kathir has narrated these words: "O Abu Amr! In how many battles did the Prophet (peace be upon him) participate?" He replied: "In nineteen (19) battles." I asked, "In how many battles did you participate with the Prophet (peace be upon him)?" He replied: "In seventeen (17)." I asked, "Which was the first battle?" He said, "Dhu Ushayrah" (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) "Usayrah." Then Abdullah bin Zayd led the people in two units (rak‘ahs) of prayer.
