Hadith 6230

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أُمْطِرَ عَلَى أَيُّوبَ فَرَاشٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَجَعَلَ يَأْخُذُهُ ، فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِِلَيْهِ : أَلَمْ أُوَسِّعْ عَلَيْكَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : بَلَى يَا رَبِّ ، وَلَكِنْ لا غِنَى لِي عَنْ فَضْلِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There was a rain of gold locusts upon Sayyiduna Ayyub (peace be upon him). He began to gather them. Allah Almighty revealed to him, 'Have I not given you abundance?' He replied, 'Yes, O my Lord, but I cannot be free of need from Your bounty.'"
