Hadith 6202

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ النَّاسَ نَزَلُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحِجْرَ أَرْضَ ثَمُودَ ، فَاسْتَقَوْا مِنْ آبَارِهَا ، وَعَجَنُوا بِهِ الْعَجِينَ ، " فَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنَ يُهْرِيقُوا مَا اسْتَقَوْا ، وَأَنْ يَعْلِفُوا الإِِبِلَ الْعَجِينَ ، وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقُوا مِنَ الْبِئْرِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَرِدُهَا النَّاقَةُ " .
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Some people camped with the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the region of Hijr, which was the land of the people of Thamud. They took water from the well there and kneaded dough with it. By the order of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the water that had been taken was poured out and the dough was fed to the camels. The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed those people to obtain water from the well where (the she-camel of) Salih (peace be upon him) used to drink.
