Hadith 6194

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ فِي الأُولَى وَالآخِرَةِ " ، قَالُوا : وَكَيْفَ ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " الأَنْبِيَاءُ إِِخْوَةٌ مِنْ عَلاتٍ ، أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ شَتَّى ، وَدِينُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ ، وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَنَا نَبِيٌّ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "In this world and the Hereafter, I am the closest to Sayyiduna Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him)." The people asked, "How is that, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Prophets are paternal brothers; their mothers are different but their religion is one. And there is no Prophet between me and Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him)."
