أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِِنَّ آدَمَ لَمَّا أُهْبِطَ إِِلَى الأَرْضِ ، قَالَتِ الْمَلائِكَةُ : أَيْ رَبِّ ، أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَنْ يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لا تَعْلَمُونَ سورة البقرة آية 30 ، قَالُوا : رَبَّنَا نَحْنُ أَطْوَعُ لَكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ لِمَلائِكَتِهِ : هَلُمُّوا مَلَكَيْنِ مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ ، فَنَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ يَعْمَلانِ ، قَالُوا : رَبَّنَا ، هَارُوتُ وَمَارُوتُ ، قَالَ : فَاهْبِطَا إِِلَى الأَرْضِ ، قَالَ : فَمُثِّلَتْ لَهُمُ الزَّهْرَةُ امْرَأَةً مِنْ أَحْسَنِ الْبَشَرِ ، فَجَاءَاهَا فَسَأَلاهَا نَفْسَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ : لا وَاللَّهِ حَتَّى تَكَلَّمَا بِهَذِهِ الْكَلِمَةِ مِنَ الإِِشْرَاكِ ، قَالا : وَاللَّهِ لا نُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ أَبَدًا ، فَذَهَبَتْ عَنْهُمَا ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَتْ بِصَبِيٍّ تَحْمِلُهُ ، فَسَأَلاهَا نَفْسَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ : لا وَاللَّهِ حَتَّى تَقْتُلا هَذَا الصَّبِيَّ ، فَقَالا : لا وَاللَّهِ لا نَقْتُلُهُ أَبَدًا ، فَذَهَبَتْ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَتْ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ خَمْرٍ تَحْمِلُهُ ، فَسَأَلاهَا نَفْسَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ : لا وَاللَّهِ حَتَّى تَشْرَبَا هَذَا الْخَمْرَ ، فَشَرِبَا فَسَكِرَا ، فَوَقَعَا عَلَيْهَا ، وَقَتَلا الصَّبِيَّ ، فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَا ، قَالَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ : وَاللَّهِ مَا تَرَكْتُمَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَثِيمًا إِِلا فَعَلْتُمَاهُ حِينَ سَكِرْتُمَا ، فَخُيِّرَا عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ بَيْنَ عَذَابِ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابِ الآخِرَةِ ، فَاخْتَارَا عَذَابَ الدُّنْيَا " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : الزَّهْرَةُ هَذِهِ : امْرَأَةٌ كَانَتْ فِي ذَلِكَ الزَّمَانِ ، لا أَنَّهَا الزَّهْرَةُ الَّتِي هِيَ فِي السَّمَاءِ الَّتِي هِيَ مِنَ الْخُنَّسِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) was sent down to the earth, the angels said: O Lord! "Will You place therein one who will cause corruption therein and shed blood, while we glorify You with praise and declare Your holiness?" So the Lord said: I know what you do not know. The angels said: We are more obedient to You than the children of Adam. Allah Almighty said to the angels: Bring two angels from among yourselves, and We will make clear what they do. They said: O our Lord, Harut and Marut (are present). The Lord said: Both of you descend to the earth. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The most beautiful woman named Zuhra came before them. Both of them approached her and expressed their desire to commit adultery with her. She said: No, by Allah! I will not do so until you utter this polytheistic statement. Both of them said: By Allah! We will never associate anyone with Allah. She left them and went away. Then she returned, carrying a child in her arms. Again, they expressed their desire to commit adultery with her. She said: No, by Allah! Not until you kill this child. Both of them said: No, by Allah! We will never kill him. She left again. Then she came back holding a cup of wine. Again, they expressed their desire to her. She said: No, by Allah! Not until you drink this wine. Both of them drank the wine. They became intoxicated, committed adultery with the woman, and killed the child. When they regained consciousness, the woman said: By Allah! You committed every sin when you were intoxicated. (The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:) Then both of them were given the choice between the punishment of this world and the punishment of the Hereafter, so they chose the punishment of this world.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, said:) There was a woman who existed at that time; it does not refer to the star named Zuhra, which is in the sky and is among the hidden stars.
