أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّيرفيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " احْتَجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى ، فَقَالَ مُوسَى : يَا آدَمُ ، أَنْتَ أَبُونَا خَيَّبْتَنَا ، وَأَخْرَجْتَنَا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ : يَا مُوسَى ، اصْطَفَاكَ اللَّهُ بكلامِهِ ، وَخَطَّ لَكَ بِيَدِهِ ، تَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِّرَ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَنِي بَأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً ؟ قَالَ : فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى ، فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى ، فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He learned of this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Once there was a debate between Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) and Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) said: O (Sayyiduna) Adam (peace be upon him), you are our forefather; you caused us disgrace and expelled us from Paradise. Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) replied to him: O Musa, Allah Almighty chose you for His speech and wrote (the Torah) for you with His own hand of power. Are you blaming me for an issue that was written in my destiny forty years before my creation? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: So Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) prevailed over Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) prevailed over Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) prevailed over Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him).
