Hadith 617

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُ أَشَدُّ فَرَحًا بِتَوْبَةِ عَبْدِهِ مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ يَسْتَيْقِظُ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ أَضَلَّهُ بِأَرْضٍ فَلاةٍ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Allah Almighty is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than that person who, upon waking up, finds his camel which he had lost in a barren, waterless land."
