Hadith 6127

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الْجَمَّالُ الرَّازِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْحَضْرَمِيُّ بْنُ لاحِقٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَنِ الطِّيَرَةِ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لا عَدْوَى وَلا طِيَرَةَ ، وَلا هَامَ ، فَإِنْ تَكُ الطِّيَرَةُ فِي شَيْءٍ فَفِي الْمَرْأَةِ وَالْفَرَسِ وَالدَّارِ " .
Saeed bin Musayyib narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) about tiyarah (superstition), so he told me: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "There is no reality in contagion, superstition, or the owl (as an omen). If superstition were to exist in anything, it would be in a woman, a horse, or a house."
