Hadith 6091

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى بِالْمَوْصِلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرُّقَى ، وَلِي خَالٌ يَرْقِي مِنَ الْعَقْرَبِ ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَنْفَعَ أَخَاهُ ، فَلْيَفْعَلْ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade incantations. My uncle used to recite incantations for scorpion stings. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned this to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you can benefit his brother in any way, he should do so.
