Hadith 6055

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ حُدُسٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ ، أن النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الرُّؤْيَا جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ ، وَالرُّؤْيَا مُعَلَّقَةٌ بِرِجْلِ طَيْرٍ مَا لَمْ يُحَدِّثْ بِهَا صَاحِبُهَا ، فَإِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَا وَقَعَتْ ، فَلا تُحَدِّثْ بِهَا إِلا عَالِمًا ، أَوْ نَاصِحًا ، أَوْ حَبِيبًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Razin Uqayli (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "A dream is one-seventieth part of prophethood, and a dream remains suspended until the person who saw it relates it. When he relates it, then it comes to pass. So relate it only before a scholar, or a well-wisher, or a beloved (i.e., a favored person)."
