Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: During the illness in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he lifted the curtain and saw that the people were standing in rows behind Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) (performing prayer). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Of the glad tidings of prophethood, only true dreams remain, which a believer sees (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or which are shown to him. Beware, I have been forbidden from reciting (Qur'an) while in the state of bowing or prostration. As for bowing, then in it, declare the greatness of your Lord; as for prostration, then make supplication in it with diligence, for it is more likely that it will be answered for you.
