Hadith 5987

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ خَنَقَ نَفْسَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَقَتَلَهَا خَنَقَ نَفْسَهُ فِي النَّارِ ، وَمَنْ طَعَنَ نَفْسَهُ طَعَنَهَا فِي النَّارِ ، وَمَنِ اقْتَحَمَ فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ اقْتَحَمَ فِي النَّارِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever strangles himself in this world and commits suicide, he will continue to strangle himself in Hell; whoever stabs himself, he will continue to stab himself in Hell; whoever throws himself into the fire and commits suicide, he will continue to throw himself into the fire in Hell."
