Hadith 5978

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلالٍ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ ، أن النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لا يَحِلُّ لامْرِئٍ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ عَصَا أَخِيهِ بِغَيْرِ طِيبِ نَفْسٍ مِنْهُ " ، قَالَ ذَلِكَ لِشِدَّةِ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ مِنْ مَالِ الْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Humayd Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "It is not permissible for any Muslim to take his brother's staff without his consent." (The narrator states) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this due to the severity of the matter, because Allah Almighty has declared the wealth of a Muslim unlawful for another Muslim.
