Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will be such tribulations in which the one lying down will be better than the one sitting, the one sitting will be better than the one standing, the one standing will be better than the one walking, and the one walking will be better than the one running." A man asked: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon you)! (In such a situation) what do you command us to do?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has camels should go to his camels, whoever has sheep should go to his sheep, whoever has land should occupy himself with his land, and whoever has none of these should go to his sword and strike its edge on a stone (rendering his sword useless), then let him try to save himself as much as he can."
