Hadith 5955

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أن النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرُ مَالِ الْمُسْلِمِ غُنَيْمَةً ، يَتْبَعُ بِهَا سَعَفَ الْجِبَالِ ، وَمَوَاضِعَ الْقَطْرِ ، يَفِرُّ بِدِينِهِ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : هَكَذَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ " سَعَفَ " وَإِنَّما هِيَ بِالشِّينِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A time will soon come when the best wealth of a Muslim will be a few goats, which he will take with him to the tops of mountains and to places where rain falls (i.e., forests), fleeing with his religion from tribulations.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Khalifah has transmitted this word as "sa‘f," whereas the original word is with "sheen."
