Hadith 5932

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ بِالرَّقَّةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْبَانُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَصْلِحْ لَحْمَ هَذِهِ الأُضْحِيَّةِ " ، فَأَصْلَحْتُهُ ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْمَدِينَةَ .
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "Preserve the meat of the sacrifice." So I preserved it, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to use that meat until he reached Madinah Munawwarah.
