ذكر الأمر بحد الشفار والإحسان في الذبح لمن أراده-Command to sharpen knives and show kindness when slaughtering
Hadith 5883

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، قَالَ : ثِنْتَانِ حَفِظْتُهُمَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ الإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ ، وَلْيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I have memorized two things from the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): (He said:) "Indeed, Allah has prescribed excellence in everything. So when you kill, kill in a good manner, and when you slaughter, slaughter in a good manner. You should sharpen your knife and give comfort to your sacrificial animal."
