Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I came to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and at that time two girls were sitting with him, beating the duff and singing. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was resting with a cloth over his face. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) scolded the two girls, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) removed the cloth from his face and said: O Abu Bakr, let them be, for these are the days of Eid. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Abyssinian delegation came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), they began to perform feats in the mosque. I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) shielding me with his cloak, and I kept watching them as they performed in the mosque until I myself became bored. You can imagine how eager a young girl would be to watch such games and play.
Zuhri narrates: Saeed bin Musayyib told me this: Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) entered (the mosque) while the Abyssinians were performing feats in the mosque. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) scolded them, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: O Umar! Let them be, for they are the Banu Arfidah.
