Hadith 5858

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أن رسول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ وَجَدَ فِيهِ صُورَةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَصُورَةَ مَرْيَمَ ، قَالَ : " أَمَّا هُمْ لَقَدْ سَمِعُوا أَنَّ الْمَلائِكَةَ لا تَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ ، هَذَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ مُصَوِّرٌ ، فَمَا بَالُهُ يَسْتَقْسِمُ ؟ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the Ka'bah, he found pictures of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and Sayyidah Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her) inside it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As for these people, they know this matter, that angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture. Here is the picture of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him); when did he ever play dice?
